                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On December 24, 2000, Ezequiel and Inez Laing of
 1-2     Midland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, and this
 1-3     memorable occasion is truly worthy of special recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, United in matrimony on December 24, 1950, Mr. Laing
 1-5     and the former Inez Ramirez have shared a loving union that has
 1-6     been blessed with seven children, and they have proudly watched
 1-7     their extended family grow to include 23 grandchildren and 11
 1-8     great-grandchildren; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. Laing worked for Aquila Inc. until his
1-10     retirement, and Mrs. Laing is a homemaker; they are Cursillistas
1-11     and serve as Eucharistic ministers at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church,
1-12     and Mrs. Laing is a member of the Guadalupanas; and
1-13           WHEREAS, For half a century, this devoted couple have enjoyed
1-14     an enduring union filled with many happy times and cherished family
1-15     memories, and it is indeed a privilege to honor this golden
1-16     milestone in their lives; now, therefore, be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-18     Legislature hereby congratulate Ezequiel and Inez Laing on the
1-19     occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
1-20     sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
1-21           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-22     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Laing as an expression of high regard by
1-23     the Texas House of Representatives.
