R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Shannon Marie Clancy has recently been named Miss
 1-2     Tyler County 2001, and this honor is indeed deserving of special
 1-3     recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A senior at Warren High School, Ms. Clancy is an
 1-5     honor roll student, a member of the National Honor Society, and an
 1-6     accomplished athlete; currently serving as head cheerleader for the
 1-7     school's varsity squad, she has earned several accolades for her
 1-8     spirit and dance skills and has excelled as a member of the
 1-9     regional cross country track team; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Ms. Clancy is also a gifted musician; she has earned
1-11     chairs in several honor bands, and she is the drum major for the
1-12     Warren High School Band; upon graduation, she plans to attend
1-13     McNeese State University and study music education and performing
1-14     arts and hopes to pursue a position as high school band director;
1-15     and
1-16           WHEREAS, In addition, she is a member of the student council,
1-17     Spanish club, and speech and debate team and is active in state and
1-18     local governmental affairs; and
1-19           WHEREAS, A woman of poise and grace, this exceptional young
1-20     Texan was chosen from 120 contestants for the Miss Tyler County
1-21     title, and it is a privilege to join her family, friends, and
1-22     community in celebrating this truly noteworthy event; now,
1-23     therefore, be it
1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-1     Legislature hereby congratulate Shannon Marie Clancy on being
 2-2     selected as Miss Tyler County 2001 and extend to her sincere best
 2-3     wishes for continued success and happiness in all of her future
 2-4     endeavors; and, be it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-6     prepared for Ms. Clancy as an expression of high regard by the
 2-7     Texas House of Representatives.
