                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Dr. Janice C. May is a highly respected professor of
 1-2     government at The University of Texas at Austin; and
 1-3           WHEREAS, Together with her American State Legislatures class,
 1-4     she plans to conduct simulated legislative floor sessions to
 1-5     broaden her students' understanding of how ideas can be transformed
 1-6     into laws; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives heartily endorses
 1-8     the goal of encouraging Texans to learn about the legislative
 1-9     process; now, therefore, be it
1-10           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-11     Legislature, in accordance with the house rules and with the
1-12     policies and procedures of the House Administration Committee,
1-13     hereby grant permission to Professor Janice C. May and the students
1-14     in her American State Legislatures class to use the house chamber
1-15     on April 22, 2001, provided that the house of representatives is
1-16     not in session on that date.
