No. 710 77R11781 WMS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Katy Taylor High School swimming and diving team 1-2 has achieved the pinnacle of success by winning the 2001 UIL Class 1-3 5A state championship; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Completing the 2000-2001 campaign with a dual meet 1-5 record of five wins and one loss, Katy Taylor garnered not only the 1-6 coveted state team title, but also took top honors in the 200 1-7 medley relay, 200 freestyle, and 100 butterfly events; and 1-8 WHEREAS, The season's exceptional accomplishments were a 1-9 result of contributions from team members Alex Boyce, Blake Scholz, 1-10 Quinntin Augustine, Colt Adams, Greg Boyce, Cole Popham, Andrew 1-11 Demand, Joe Aertker, Jordan Ryan, Bryan Hunter, Bryant Ho, Brian 1-12 Regone, Abhishek Gupta, Bobby Aertker, Aaron Wegenka, Jeff 1-13 Armstrong, Wes Holloway, Jonathan Schoenaman, Robert May, and 1-14 Darrin Kaucher; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The team received superior leadership and guidance 1-16 from head coach Matt McKinney, who, in his inaugural season as head 1-17 coach, earned well-deserved distinction as district and region 1-18 men's coach of the year; additional expertise was provided by 1-19 diving coach Heather Gratzer, named 2001 Region 6 Diving Coach of 1-20 the Year, and assistant coach Ashley May, who led her junior 1-21 varsity boys and girls teams to district championships; and 1-22 WHEREAS, These outstanding athletes and coaches are a source 1-23 of tremendous pride to the students and faculty of Katy Taylor High 1-24 School, as well as their many supporters in the community, and it 2-1 is indeed appropriate that they be honored at this time; now, 2-2 therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby congratulate the swimming and diving team of 2-5 James E. Taylor High School in Katy on winning the 2001 UIL Class 2-6 5A state championship and extend to its members sincere best wishes 2-7 for continued success; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for the Katy Taylor High School swimming and diving team 2-10 as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of 2-11 Representatives.
