R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On March 20, 2001, Clara Cates Herrin of Iowa Park
 1-2     celebrated her 101st birthday, and this momentous occasion truly
 1-3     warrants special recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Born March 20, 1900, in Dutch Mills, Arkansas,
 1-5     Mrs. Herrin has led a rewarding and rich life, during which she
 1-6     raised two wonderful children, James Cates and Joyce Cates Short;
 1-7     and
 1-8           WHEREAS, This remarkable woman enjoys going to the beauty
 1-9     shop and for rides to look at the bluebonnets; she also maintains
1-10     an active home life that includes baking, washing breakfast dishes,
1-11     and crocheting; and
1-12           WHEREAS, March 20, 2001, was proclaimed Mrs. Clara Cates
1-13     Herrin Day in Iowa Park, and this milestone celebration is indeed
1-14     an outstanding honor for an inspirational lady; now, therefore, be
1-15     it
1-16           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-17     Legislature hereby honor Clara Cates Herrin on her 101st birthday
1-18     and extend to her best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
1-19     further
1-20           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-21     prepared for Mrs. Herrin as an expression of high regard by the
1-22     Texas House of Representatives.
