By Dutton H.R. No. 727 77R11555 JKB-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes pleasure in 1-2 honoring Henry A. Guidry, Sr., of Houston for his 31 years of 1-3 distinguished service in the United States Air Force Reserve; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Guidry was born in Houston and 1-5 enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1966 at the age of 18; 1-6 after a four-year tour, he received an honorable discharge with the 1-7 rank of sergeant; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Two months later, he joined the United States Air 1-9 Force Reserve at Ellington Air Force Base and began a career in the 1-10 reserve that would span more than three decades; during that time, 1-11 he was stationed at numerous bases throughout Texas, including 1-12 Bergstrom, Sheppard, Laughlin, and Kelly air force bases, and 1-13 earned the respect and admiration of his peers for his technical 1-14 expertise and leadership abilities; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Mr. Guidry has also excelled in his civilian 1-16 employment, working as a lead acquisition technical specialist for 1-17 the Defense Contract Management Agency at the Houston Residency 1-18 Office; this year, he was offered the opportunity to transfer to 1-19 Melbourne, Australia, as a quality assurance representative with 1-20 the Defense Contract Management Agency International, spurring his 1-21 decision to retire from the United States Air Force Reserve; and 1-22 WHEREAS, April 22, 2001, marks a milestone in the life of 1-23 this distinguished Texan, and it is most fitting to pay tribute to 1-24 him as he embarks on a new chapter of his career; now, therefore, 2-1 be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-3 Legislature hereby commend Henry A. Guidry, Sr., for his noteworthy 2-4 service with the United States Air Force Reserve and extend to him 2-5 sincere best wishes for success in all of his future endeavors; 2-6 and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for Mr. Guidry as an expression of high regard by the 2-9 Texas House of Representatives.
