                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, John Andrew Mabry of Garland is most deserving of
 1-2     special legislative recognition as he retires from state employment
 1-3     after nearly three decades of devoted service to the comptroller of
 1-4     public accounts; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A graduate of East Texas State University, Mr. Mabry
 1-6     served for four years in the United States Marine Corps before
 1-7     beginning his lengthy tenure with the comptroller's department in
 1-8     1972 as an enforcement officer in Dallas; he went on to serve as a
 1-9     field auditor and as a supervisor in the Dallas West audit office,
1-10     in which capacity he oversaw both an audit group and the review
1-11     section; and
1-12           WHEREAS, In 1986, this hardworking Texan was instrumental in
1-13     the opening of the Regional Processing Center (RPC), playing a
1-14     significant role in the development, organization, and
1-15     implementation of this innovative effort; employed as a supervisor
1-16     at the RPC for the past 15 years, Mr. Mabry has worked closely with
1-17     all 21 audit field offices as well as audit division headquarters,
1-18     tax administration, legal services, and executive administration
1-19     personnel in the comptroller's department; and
1-20           WHEREAS, Outside the office, Mr. Mabry and his wife, Martha,
1-21     are studying to become Eucharistic ministers for their church;
1-22     moreover, this civic-minded gentleman participates in the North
1-23     Star West Neighborhood Crime Watch program and is actively involved
1-24     in environmental conservation through aluminum recycling; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, Throughout his 29 years of faithful employment,
 2-2     Mr. Mabry has greatly benefited the office of the comptroller of
 2-3     public accounts, and he will be missed by all who have been
 2-4     privileged to work with him; now, therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-6     Legislature hereby commend John Andrew Mabry on his exemplary
 2-7     career with the comptroller of public accounts and extend to him
 2-8     best wishes for a happy and rewarding retirement; and, be it
 2-9     further
2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-11     prepared for Mr. Mabry as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2-12     House of Representatives.
