R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, March 15, 2001, was a day of great significance in
 1-2     the lives of Natalie Maines and Adrian Pasdar, for on that day they
 1-3     became the proud parents of an adorable baby boy whom they named
 1-4     Jackson Slade Pasdar; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The fourth generation in a family of Texas
 1-6     musicians, Jackson weighed 6 pounds and measured 20 inches in
 1-7     length when he made his debut at 9:57 a.m. at Seton Medical Center
 1-8     in Austin; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mother Natalie is the lead singer for the Dixie
1-10     Chicks, whose first album, Wide Open Spaces, became the
1-11     best-selling album by any country duo or group and who have won
1-12     such prestigious honors as Grammy Awards for Best Country Album and
1-13     Best Country Vocal Performance by a duo or group and three Academy
1-14     of Country Music Awards, including Album of the Year; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Father Adrian is a movie, television, and stage
1-16     actor and director who is credited with more than 40 acting roles,
1-17     a number of production and directing projects, and the reading of
1-18     classic horror stories for Universal Studios; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Jackson's great-grandfather was a member of the
1-20     famous Maines Brothers Band from Lubbock, and his grandfather,
1-21     Lloyd Maines, has been the Austin Record Producer of the Year for
1-22     the past two years and is a master of the pedal steel, Dobro, and
1-23     guitar who has played and toured with many other Texas music
1-24     legends; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, Born into such a nurturing and gifted family,
 2-2     Jackson most assuredly has a bright future ahead of him, and the
 2-3     members of this chamber take great pleasure in officially
 2-4     announcing his birth; now, therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-6     Legislature hereby  welcome Jackson Slade Pasdar as a new citizen
 2-7     of Texas and congratulate Natalie Maines and Adrian Pasdar on the
 2-8     birth of their son; and, be it further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-10     prepared for Jackson and his family as an expression of high regard
2-11     by the Texas House of Representatives.
