No. 749 77R12387 JKB-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Engilberto Javier "Beto" Ramos of Houston was a 1-2 beloved husband and father and a trusted friend, and his passing on 1-3 March 17, 2001, at the age of 59, has brought a great loss to his 1-4 family and many friends; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Born on February 27, 1942, in Hebbronville, 1-6 Mr. Ramos graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1974 and 1-7 earned his master of education degree from the same institution; 1-8 and 1-9 WHEREAS, He was a teacher and administrator with the Houston 1-10 Independent School District for two decades and served as the 1-11 assistant principal of Sharpstown Middle School for more than 10 1-12 years before assuming the same position at Burbank Middle School; 1-13 and 1-14 WHEREAS, A scholar who had a passion for genealogy, a host 1-15 who loved entertaining and music, and a man with a great 1-16 imagination and a gentle, caring heart, Beto Ramos will be greatly 1-17 missed, but his spirit will surely live on in the hearts and minds 1-18 of all those with whom he shared his life; now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-20 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Engilberto Javier 1-21 Ramos and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to 1-22 his wife of 30 years, Dr. Sylvia Ramos; to his sons, Engilberto 1-23 Javier and Romulo Tomas; to his mother-in-law, Mary Osuna Reyna; to 1-24 his brother-in-law and his wife, Joe and Araceli Reyna; to his 2-1 cousins, Alvara A. Gutierrez and Tommy Munoz; and to his other 2-2 relatives and many friends; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-4 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of 2-5 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Engilberto 2-6 Javier Ramos.
