R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Alton Lewis Richardson of Odessa passed away on 1-2 March 28, 2001, at the age of 70, and it is most fitting that we 1-3 pay tribute to his life at this time; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born March 22, 1931, Mr. Richardson graduated from 1-5 Odessa High School and then joined the U.S. Army, serving his 1-6 country for a period that included the Korean and Vietnam wars; he 1-7 retired as a first sergeant in 1968; and 1-8 WHEREAS, After his military service, Mr. Richardson returned 1-9 to Odessa and worked as an ROTC instructor and administrator for 1-10 Ector, Odessa, and Permian high schools; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Very active in his church, he participated on the 1-12 church council and was president three times; he was also a 32nd 1-13 degree mason with Fellowship Lodge No. 1385, a member of the 1-14 Downtown Lions Club, and a band booster president; and 1-15 WHEREAS, A devoted husband deeply involved in the lives of 1-16 his children and grandchildren, Mr. Richardson lived an honorable 1-17 life serving his country and community, and many people are better 1-18 for having known him; now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-20 Legislature hereby honor the memory of Alton Lewis Richardson and 1-21 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, 1-22 Yvette Richardson; to his son, Laurent St. Louis and his wife Kay; 1-23 to his daughter, Michelle Little; to his daughter, Linda Fry and 1-24 her husband Tony; to his brother, Earl Richardson; to his sister, 2-1 Delma Creamler; to his grandchildren, Scott St. Louis, Adam St. 2-2 Louis, Sean Little, Hayley Fry, and Patrick Fry; and to his other 2-3 relatives and many friends; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-5 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of 2-6 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Alton 2-7 Lewis Richardson.
