R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Jigna Dalal of Houston was sworn in as a United
 1-2     States citizen on April 6, 2001, and the Texas House of
 1-3     Representatives is proud to recognize this valued staff member as
 1-4     she begins this exciting new chapter in her life; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A native of India, Ms. Dalal was born in Bombay,
 1-6     where she lived until she was 12, when she and her family moved to
 1-7     the United States and settled in Houston; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Ms. Dalal is graduating from the University of
 1-9     Houston in May 2001, and during her years at the university, she
1-10     participated in the American Humanics Management Program and helped
1-11     others by working in a women's shelter and mentoring at-risk
1-12     youths; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Currently a legislative aide in the office of State
1-14     Representative Jessica Farrar, Ms. Dalal has earned the respect and
1-15     admiration of her colleagues in the legislative community, who wish
1-16     to join in honoring this noteworthy young American on her
1-17     achievement; now, therefore, be it
1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-19     Legislature hereby congratulate Jigna Dalal on becoming a
1-20     naturalized American citizen entitled to the same rights and
1-21     privileges enjoyed by those native born to the United States and
1-22     extend to her sincere best wishes for great success and happiness
1-23     in the years to come; and, be it further  RESOLVED, That an
1-24     official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Dalal as an
 2-1     expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
