                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Members of the Magic Circle Republican Women's Club
 1-2     of Houston are visiting Austin on this day, and the Texas House of
 1-3     Representatives takes pleasure in welcoming these distinguished
 1-4     citizens to the State Capitol; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Founded in 1978, the Magic Circle Republican Women's
 1-6     Club is one of the largest of its kind in the nation; its members
 1-7     have given vital assistance to many people, chairing campaigns and
 1-8     phone banks, producing radio advertisements, and handling myriad
 1-9     other crucial responsibilities; in addition, they publish a
1-10     newsletter that serves as an important channel of information; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Club members encourage one another as they continue
1-12     to pursue their own dreams and ambitions, and with the warm support
1-13     of this vibrant and dedicated network, many worthy candidates have
1-14     achieved public office; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Along with their political activities, these
1-16     individuals have given invaluable aid to a variety of community
1-17     initiatives, including a cancer-awareness project and a literacy
1-18     program, and their efforts in endeavors such as these contribute
1-19     significantly to the common good; and
1-20           WHEREAS, The civic engagement exemplified by the Magic Circle
1-21     Republican Women's Club is essential to the health of any
1-22     democracy, and it is indeed appropriate that its admirable members
1-23     be recognized by this chamber; now, therefore, be it  
1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-1     Legislature hereby welcome to the State Capitol members of the
 2-2     Magic Circle Republican Women's Club who are with us today and
 2-3     commend every member of this club for her contributions to our
 2-4     public life; and, be it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-6     prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 2-7     House of Representatives.
