R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The annual celebration of Law Day on May 1, 2001,
 1-2     provides an ideal opportunity to recognize the Honorable James R.
 1-3     Fry of Grayson County, who has ably served as judge of the 15th
 1-4     District Court for the past 16 years; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, After graduating from Baylor Law School in 1970,
 1-6     Judge Fry was a practicing trial lawyer in Grayson County until
 1-7     1985, when he took the bench as judge of the 15th District Court;
 1-8     and
 1-9           WHEREAS, His myriad professional accomplishments include
1-10     serving the Grayson County Bar Association as president, a term in
1-11     which he helped the association earn the State Bar's Award of
1-12     Merit; he is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a graduate of
1-13     the State College for the Judiciary and the National Judicial
1-14     College; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Named Sherman's Citizen of the Year by the Sherman
1-16     Area Chamber of Commerce in 1992, Judge Fry has also been active as
1-17     president of the Red River Historical Museum and the Grayson County
1-18     Rotary Club, on the board of directors for Goals for Sherman, Inc.,
1-19     and the Community Hospital Foundation, and as chairman of the
1-20     Sherman Chamber of Commerce; and
1-21           WHEREAS, He also serves on the advisory board of Juvenile
1-22     Alternatives, is a former Little League coach and former member of
1-23     the board of Sherman Boys' Club and Camp Fire, and is currently
1-24     active in Grayson Teen Court and Kids Against Drugs; moreover, he
 2-1     is a member of Andrew Randall Lodge #1342 A.F. & A.M., the Scottish
 2-2     Rite, York Rite, and the Shriners, and is an elder of Covenant
 2-3     Presbyterian Church; and
 2-4           WHEREAS, For more than three decades, Judge Fry has been a
 2-5     leader in his profession and his community, and it is indeed
 2-6     appropriate to honor and applaud him for his impressive
 2-7     accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
 2-8           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-9     Legislature hereby pay tribute to Judge James R. Fry and extend to
2-10     him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
2-11           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-12     prepared for Judge Fry as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2-13     House of Representatives.
