R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, May 1, 2001, is Law Day and this is indeed an 1-2 appropriate occasion to acknowledge the many significant 1-3 contributions that the Honorable Ray F. Grisham has made to the 1-4 citizens of Texas; and 1-5 WHEREAS, An expert in family law, Judge Grisham began his 1-6 public service as a prosecutor for the Grayson County Attorney's 1-7 Office and in 1983 became judge of the 336th District Court, where 1-8 he has faithfully performed the duties of that demanding office for 1-9 18 years; and 1-10 WHEREAS, He also serves his community as chairman of the 1-11 Juvenile Board of Grayson County, as a member of the Juvenile Board 1-12 of Fannin County, and as a board chairman of the Tri-County Senior 1-13 Nutrition Project; other worthy organizations which have benefited 1-14 from his leadership and guidance are the Grayson County 1-15 Rehabilitation Center, Red River Valley Division of March of Dimes, 1-16 and the Hurricane Creek Rotary Club; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Judge Grisham is also a raised master mason and past 1-18 master with Andrew Randell Lodge #1342 AF&AM and is a member of the 1-19 York Rite, York Rite College, Hella Temple Shrine, and Grayson 1-20 County Scottish Rite and Shrine clubs; and 1-21 WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor 1-22 of arts degree in political science, he earned his law degree from 1-23 The University of Texas Law School and was also an officer in the 1-24 U.S. Army, attaining the rank of captain; and 2-1 WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished tenure on the bench, 2-2 Judge Grisham has sought to ensure that all those brought before 2-3 him receive fair and impartial treatment, and it is indeed 2-4 appropriate that he receive special legislative recognition on Law 2-5 Day 2001; now, therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-7 Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Ray F. Grisham for his 2-8 exemplary service to his fellow Texans as judge of the 336th 2-9 District Court and that he be extended sincere best wishes for 2-10 continued success; and, be it further 2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-12 prepared for Judge Grisham as an expression of high regard by the 2-13 Texas House of Representatives.
