                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Leslie Cronin has recently been named Miss San
 1-2     Jacinto County 2001, and this honor is indeed deserving of special
 1-3     recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A junior at Shepherd High School, Ms. Cronin is a
 1-5     member of the National Honor Society and is currently enrolled in
 1-6     several honors courses; she is an officer in the school's student
 1-7     council and a member of the varsity cheerleading squad and track
 1-8     team; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Ms. Cronin is also an active member of the school's
1-10     FFA organization, in which she has earned significant recognition
1-11     for her public speaking as well as sheep-raising ability; currently
1-12     serving as the group's Sam Houston District vice president, this
1-13     lovely lady has been the recipient of both the State Sheep
1-14     Proficiency and the Star Chapter Farmer awards and represents the
1-15     FFA as the vice president of the San Jacinto County Council; and
1-16           WHEREAS, The winner of the Miss San Jacinto County contest's
1-17     talent competition, Ms. Cronin is a 1st degree black belt in Karate
1-18     and her skillful demonstration of self defense proved her to be an
1-19     accomplished athlete and outstanding contestant; and
1-20           WHEREAS, A woman of poise and grace, this exceptional young
1-21     Texan was chosen to represent the residents of San Jacinto County,
1-22     and it is a privilege to join her family, friends, and community in
1-23     celebrating the truly noteworthy event; now, therefore, be it
1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-1     Legislature hereby congratulate Leslie Cronin on being selected as
 2-2     Miss San Jacinto County 2001 and extend to her sincere best wishes
 2-3     for continued success and happiness in all of her future endeavors;
 2-4     and, be it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-6     prepared for Ms. Cronin as an expression of high regard by the
 2-7     Texas House of Representatives.
