R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Harold Richard "Rusty" Bost of Boyd,
1-2 Texas, on April 1, 2001, at the age of 75, has deeply saddened his
1-3 family and many friends; and
1-4 WHEREAS, A native of Rhome, Texas, this patriotic gentleman
1-5 joined the United States Navy at the age of 16 and proudly served
1-6 his country as a hospital corpsman in the Pacific during World War
1-7 II; and
1-8 WHEREAS, After completing his naval service, Mr. Bost
1-9 returned home and put himself through school while earning a
1-10 bachelor of arts degree from Texas Christian University; initially
1-11 employed as a math teacher at B. H. Carrol Elementary School for a
1-12 year, he then began a successful career as a pharmaceutical
1-13 representative that would span 30 years; and
1-14 WHEREAS, Mr. Bost and the former Doris Gene Crumpton were
1-15 married on January 1, 1947, in Fort Worth and took pride in the
1-16 54-year marriage they shared, as well as in their two children and
1-17 five grandchildren; and
1-18 WHEREAS, A respected citizen of Boyd, where he moved in the
1-19 early 1990s, Mr. Bost participated in many civic endeavors
1-20 throughout his lifetime; in addition to church activities, he was
1-21 involved with the Rockwall Historical Society, the Wise County
1-22 Historical Society, and the Sons of the American Revolution, and he
1-23 served on the Aurora Cemetery Board and the Boyd Library Board; and
1-24 WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share the friendship of
2-1 Rusty Bost will long miss his presence, and he will surely be
2-2 remembered with great affection and admiration for many years to
2-3 come; now, therefore, be it
2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
2-5 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Harold Richard
2-6 "Rusty" Bost and extend sincere sympathy to his family: to his
2-7 wife, Doris Gene Bost; to his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and
2-8 Linda Bost; to his daughter and son-in-law, Leeann and Brooken
2-9 Brimfield; to his grandchildren, Charles and Blake Bost and Shawn,
2-10 Samantha, and Stephen Brimfield; and to the other relatives and
2-11 many friends of this fine man; and, be it further
2-12 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-13 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
2-14 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-15 Harold Richard "Rusty" Bost.
