R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
 1-2     welcome the students of the Academy of Travel and Tourism from
 1-3     Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas to the State Capitol on
 1-4     April 19, 2001; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A part of the National Academy Foundation, the
 1-6     Academy of Travel and Tourism is an outstanding program that
 1-7     affords students the chance to explore occupational opportunities
 1-8     in the travel and tourism industry; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, After their junior year, academy students work
1-10     through an internship program that enables them to gain firsthand
1-11     experience in the industry, and during their senior year they
1-12     compete for scholarships and receive college credit for one of the
1-13     travel and tourism classes; the noteworthy efforts of these
1-14     talented students have earned them and their program much
1-15     well-deserved state and national recognition; and
1-16           WHEREAS, It is indeed appropriate to commend these fine young
1-17     Texans for endeavoring to gain experience in the travel and tourism
1-18     industry and to pay tribute to them as they visit the State
1-19     Capitol; now, therefore, be it
1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-21     Legislature hereby welcome the students of the Academy of Travel
1-22     and Tourism from Thomas Jefferson High School to the State Capitol
1-23     and extend to them sincere best wishes for an enjoyable visit.
