R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
1-2 Ruby Mae Earls Collins for her service to the city of Austin as
1-3 well as for her exemplary leadership of the B. L. H. Bradshaw
1-4 Mission II Women's Convention Auxiliary to the St. John Regular
1-5 Baptist Association; and
1-6 WHEREAS, Mrs. Collins was president of the auxiliary for 33
1-7 years, and since July 2000, she has held the title of president
1-8 emeritus; during her notable tenure, Mrs. Collins was instrumental
1-9 in the creation of a street ministry to benefit the homeless; and
1-10 WHEREAS, A founder of the Austin City Wide Mission II, this
1-11 esteemed woman has devoted her time and energy to a variety of
1-12 panels for the organization, including the scholarship committee;
1-13 currently, she is a member of the finance committee and chairs the
1-14 Vice Presidents' Hour Committee of the Senior Mission II Auxiliary
1-15 for the Missionary Baptist Convention of Texas; and
1-16 WHEREAS, Through her exceptional efforts, many women have had
1-17 increased opportunities for education, and meals have been served
1-18 to hundreds of homeless people; and
1-19 WHEREAS, Ruby Collins is an outstanding role model for many,
1-20 and it is most appropriate that she be honored at this time; now,
1-21 therefore, be it
1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-23 Legislature hereby commend Ruby Mae Earls Collins for her deep
1-24 commitment to the B. L. H. Bradshaw Mission II Women's Convention
2-1 Auxiliary to the St. John Regular Baptist Association and extend to
2-2 her warmest wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
2-3 further
2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-5 prepared for Mrs. Collins as an expression of high regard by the
2-6 Texas House of Representatives.
