                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Vivagene Copeland is retiring from the Hurst City
 1-2     Council, and the occasion provides an opportunity to recognize the
 1-3     distinguished service of this highly respected public official; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A resident of Hurst for more than 38 years,
 1-5     Ms. Copeland has been a member of the city council for five terms,
 1-6     and she has made an incalculable contribution to the well-being of
 1-7     her community; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, This outstanding civic leader also serves on the
 1-9     Hurst Community Services Development Corporation and the Hurst
1-10     Crime Control District Board; she is a liaison to the senior
1-11     citizens center and an alumni of the Citizens Police Academy
1-12     Association, and she plans to become more actively involved with
1-13     the Order of the Eastern Star when her tenure on the city council
1-14     comes to a close; and
1-15           WHEREAS, The leadership, commitment, and devotion she has
1-16     demonstrated while serving as a council member speak volumes about
1-17     her fervent desire to improve the quality of life for the area's
1-18     residents; Ms. Copeland has used her abilities to help countless
1-19     people in her community, and it is indeed most appropriate that we
1-20     honor her as she begins a new chapter in her life; now, therefore,
1-21     be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-23     Legislature hereby pay tribute to Vivagene Copeland for her
1-24     exemplary service as a member of the Hurst City Council and extend
 2-1     to her sincere best wishes for happiness and good fortune in the
 2-2     future; and, be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-4     prepared for Ms. Copeland as an expression of high regard by the
 2-5     Texas House of Representatives.
