                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Leon County Deputy Loutricia
 1-2     "Lou" Bonfanti on April 7, 2001, at the age of 39, has brought
 1-3     great sadness to her family, friends, and fellow officers and a
 1-4     significant sense of loss to the entire community; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A member of the Leon County Sheriff's Office since
 1-6     March 17, 1999, Deputy Bonfanti lost her life when she was fatally
 1-7     injured in an automobile accident while en route to a family
 1-8     disturbance call; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Her 12-year career in law enforcement included
1-10     service with the Palestine, Groesbeck, and Teague police
1-11     departments and the Anderson County Sheriff's Department;
1-12     indicative of her commitment to expanding her job skills to meet
1-13     the needs of her fellow citizens, she had been working towards
1-14     certification in hostage negotiation; and
1-15           WHEREAS, In addition to her efforts with the sheriff's
1-16     office, she also benefited her community as an active member of the
1-17     Westside Assembly of God Church in Palestine; and
1-18           WHEREAS, This dedicated officer was a person of great
1-19     compassion whose sense of duty reflected a deep concern for the
1-20     welfare of others; though her life has been tragically cut short,
1-21     her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who were
1-22     privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-24     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Loutricia "Lou"
 2-1     Bonfanti and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
 2-2     to her husband, Anthony Bonfanti; to her daughters, Linna Sowell
 2-3     Ansley and Leslie Kaye Owen; to her mother, Bobbie Powell; to her
 2-4     sister, Cornelia Sowell; to her brother, George Sowell; and to the
 2-5     other relatives, friends, and colleagues of this respected peace
 2-6     officer; and, be it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-8     prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 2-9     Representatives adjourns this day it do so in memory of Deputy
2-10     Loutricia Bonfanti.
