R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Louis Albert Schreiner II of
1-2 the YO Ranch of Mountain Home on April 13, 2001, at the age of 41,
1-3 has brought a great loss to the family and many friends of this
1-4 beloved gentleman; and
1-5 WHEREAS, Born on October 4, 1959, Louie Schreiner was a
1-6 great-grandson of Captain Charles Schreiner, a Texas Ranger,
1-7 rancher, and businessman who founded the YO Ranch more than a
1-8 century ago; and
1-9 WHEREAS, Mr. Schreiner earned a bachelor's degree in finance
1-10 from The University of Texas, graduated from the Texas Christian
1-11 University School of Ranch Management, and was a licensed real
1-12 estate broker; with his three brothers, he operated the family's
1-13 50,000-acre YO Ranch, and served as its general manager; and
1-14 WHEREAS, Mr. Schreiner founded an apprentice hunters program
1-15 while a board member of Safari Club International; he volunteered
1-16 his service as a director of the Exotic Wildlife Association and
1-17 the Texas Wildlife Association and established a youth hunt on the
1-18 YO Ranch; his related responsibilities included directorships with
1-19 the YO Land & Cattle Company and Woodbury Taxidermy; and
1-20 WHEREAS, This generous individual was known for his zest for
1-21 life; he was a faithful congregant of First Presbyterian Church in
1-22 Kerrville, a coach and director of the Kerrville Little League, and
1-23 a Kerr County YMCA football coach; he was also involved with the
1-24 San Antonio German Club, the Order of the Alamo, and Las Cazadores;
2-1 and
2-2 WHEREAS, Although his life was cut tragically short,
2-3 Mr. Schreiner touched the lives of many people, and his devotion to
2-4 his family and his community and the contributions he made to them
2-5 will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
2-6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
2-7 Legislature hereby honor the memory of Louis Albert "Louie"
2-8 Schreiner II and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
2-9 family: to his wife, Chrisie Schreiner; to his children, Louis
2-10 Griffin, Lee Barton, and Luke Phillips Schreiner; to his
2-11 stepmother, Karol Schreiner; to his brothers and sisters-in-law,
2-12 Charles Schreiner IV and Mary Helen Schreiner, Walter R. and Teri
2-13 Schreiner, Gus L. and Lori Schreiner; to his stepsister, Deborah
2-14 James; to his parents-in-law, Arthur and Jeannette Sitterle; and to
2-15 the many other relatives and friends of this fine man; and, be it
2-16 further
2-17 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-18 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
2-19 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Louis
2-20 Albert Schreiner II.
