R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Yulia Alexandrovna Polansky of Austin will soon 1-2 celebrate an important milestone in her life with her graduation 1-3 from Anderson High School in May 2001; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born January 25, 1982, in Novosibirsk, Siberia, 1-5 U.S.S.R., she grew up in the Transdnestrian region of Moldova, the 1-6 daughter of Alexandr Polansky, a civil engineer, and Tatyana 1-7 Polansky, also a civil engineer and an Olympic cross-country 1-8 skier; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Following the untimely death of her mother, 1-10 Ms. Polansky became the woman of the house and met each challenge 1-11 that came her way with optimism and courage; and 1-12 WHEREAS, She became the daughter of Anne Gregory after her 1-13 father's remarriage in November 1998 in Nice, France, and while 1-14 awaiting a visa to come to the United States, Ms. Polansky studied 1-15 on the French Riviera and traveled to Paris, Monaco, 1-16 Aix-en-Provence, and Florence; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Arriving in America on November 28, 1999, after 1-18 having spoken English for less than a year, this remarkable young 1-19 woman moved to Austin at the age of 17 and began an intensive 1-20 curriculum at Anderson High School, where she loved her classes in 1-21 Latin and history and will be graduating under the highest level 1-22 graduation plan; and 1-23 WHEREAS, Beloved by all who know her, especially her older 1-24 sister, Claire Morris, Ms. Polansky has achieved great success in 2-1 her newfound home, having demonstrated to her fellow citizens that 2-2 with hard work, determination, and drive anything is possible, and 2-3 it is a privilege to honor her as she embarks on this exciting new 2-4 chapter in her life; now, therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-6 Legislature hereby congratulate Yulia Alexandrovna Polansky on the 2-7 joyous occasion of her high school graduation and commend her for 2-8 her exceptional achievements; and, be it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-10 prepared for Ms. Polansky as an expression of high regard by the 2-11 Texas House of Representatives.
