R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 1-2 who have shared 40 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly 1-3 an occasion worthy of special recognition; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Aubrey Jearl and Mary Kathryn McCalla Cunningham of 1-5 Canton are commemorating one such notable event in their lives on 1-6 July 15, 2001, when they will celebrate their four decades of 1-7 mutual affection and devotion; and 1-8 WHEREAS, After a six-month courtship, the couple were married 1-9 on July 15, 1961, by the Reverend Robert Kiser at the place where 1-10 they first met, Danieldale Baptist Church in Lancaster, and they 1-11 were attended by maid of honor Jo Ann Bullard and best man Carl 1-12 Pyron; Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham spent their honeymoon in Galveston 1-13 and returned to make their first home together in DeSoto; and 1-14 WHEREAS, The Cunninghams have been blessed with four 1-15 daughters, Debbie Murdock, Dana Cliburn, Amy Miller, and the late 1-16 Kathy Cunningham, and through the years their family has grown to 1-17 include their beloved grandchildren, Justin, Jared, Jessica, 1-18 Brittany, Lauren, and Kamryn; and 1-19 WHEREAS, For 40 years, Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham have enjoyed a 1-20 marriage filled with many joyful times and cherished family 1-21 memories; their relationship is a source of tremendous pride to 1-22 their family and many friends, and it is a privilege to honor them 1-23 at this time; now, therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-1 Legislature hereby congratulate Aubrey Jearl and Mary Kathryn 2-2 McCalla Cunningham on their 40th wedding anniversary and extend to 2-3 them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it 2-4 further 2-5 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-6 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham as an expression of high 2-7 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
