R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Jim Haines is an esteemed business and civic leader
 1-2     in El Paso, and his outstanding service is indeed deserving of
 1-3     special legislative recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, President and chief executive officer of El Paso
 1-5     Electric since 1996, Mr. Haines has led the company to financial
 1-6     stability, and since he took office, the company has substantially
 1-7     increased its community involvement; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Working tirelessly for the betterment of El Paso,
 1-9     Mr. Haines has helped to create an improved relationship between
1-10     business and the community by actively participating in various
1-11     civic and professional organizations; and
1-12           WHEREAS, This Michigan native, who enjoys kayaking in remote
1-13     areas of the globe, has made a deep and lasting impression on El
1-14     Paso, and his business expertise and social consciousness have
1-15     earned him the gratitude of his company and city; now, therefore,
1-16     be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-18     Legislature hereby honor Jim Haines for his leadership and
1-19     contributions to El Paso Electric and to the El Paso community and
1-20     extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and
1-21     happiness; and, be it further       RESOLVED, That an official copy
1-22     of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Haines as an expression of
1-23     high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
