                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The year 2001 marks the 100th anniversary of El Paso
 1-2     Electric, and this noteworthy event merits special legislative
 1-3     recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Established on August 30, 1901, El Paso Electric has
 1-5     spurred growth and development of El Paso and surrounding
 1-6     communities; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, For 10 decades, the company's employees have
 1-8     volunteered their time and considerable talents to many worthwhile
 1-9     endeavors to improve the quality of life in their communities; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Throughout the years, this notable utility company
1-11     has continued to provide safe and reliable electric service to its
1-12     many Texas customers while continuing to meet the needs of its
1-13     diverse clientele; and
1-14           WHEREAS, El Paso Electric has proven itself to be an industry
1-15     leader that is committed to serving the area's citizens, and it is
1-16     indeed most appropriate to pay tribute to this exemplary company as
1-17     it celebrates a significant milestone; now, therefore, be it
1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-19     Legislature hereby congratulate El Paso Electric on its 100 years
1-20     of outstanding service and extend to its employees sincere best
1-21     wishes for the future; and, be it further
1-22           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-23     prepared for El Paso Electric as an expression of high regard by
1-24     the Texas House of Representatives.
