R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce is the primary
 1-2     host of the AsiaTech @ Austin 2001 Expo, an outstanding event
 1-3     designed to help build and strengthen relationships between Asian
 1-4     and United States information technology companies; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Large enough to allow for diversity but small enough
 1-6     to facilitate networking, this noteworthy function affords its
 1-7     participants the opportunity to identify synergies, innovative
 1-8     technologies, new markets, and ways to reduce costs; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, The expo's attendees include information technology
1-10     companies and investors as well as entrepreneurs from both Asia and
1-11     the United States who have new technologies or proven business
1-12     models or who are looking for such products, services, and ideas;
1-13     and
1-14           WHEREAS, Held at the Austin Convention Center on May 14-18,
1-15     2001, the AsiaTech @ Austin Expo will undoubtedly have a
1-16     substantial impact on the economy of Austin and the Lone Star State
1-17     and will most certainly help to foster international business
1-18     relationships that will further Texas' role as a leader in the
1-19     technology industry; now, therefore, be it
1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-21     Legislature hereby commemorate the AsiaTech @ Austin 2001 Expo and
1-22     extend to all those associated with the occasion sincere best
1-23     wishes for a successful and rewarding event.
