By Goodman H.R. No. 919 77R14284 WMS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Joshua D. Stewart of 1-2 Arlington has demonstrated a notable commitment to education, and 1-3 this quality is exemplified by his perfect school attendance since 1-4 the first grade; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The son of Jeffery and Carolyn Stewart, this 1-6 esteemed young man is a senior at James Martin High School, where 1-7 he is a member of the student council and maintains a 3.3 grade 1-8 point average; he is also a player on the school's varsity 1-9 basketball team and participates in the Fellowship of Christian 1-10 Athletes; and 1-11 WHEREAS, In recognition of his superior scholastic 1-12 performance, Mr. Stewart was named a student of the month by the 1-13 PTA and was listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students 1-14 each of the past three years; and 1-15 WHEREAS, An active member of his church since 1996, he has 1-16 also served as a volunteer with youth basketball camps and leagues, 1-17 as a teen counselor for the Funtime Live Organization, and as a 1-18 teen court prosecutor for the City of Arlington; and 1-19 WHEREAS, He has been accepted to Purdue University, and after 1-20 completing his higher education Mr. Stewart plans on applying his 1-21 talents to a career in business or information systems management; 1-22 and 1-23 WHEREAS, Mr. Stewart's achievements are a tribute to his hard 1-24 work and dedication to excellence; his well-deserved success is an 2-1 inspiration to all who know him, and it is indeed appropriate that 2-2 he be honored at this time; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby congratulate Joshua D. Stewart on his many 2-5 exceptional accomplishments, including his perfect attendance 2-6 record in school, and extend to him sincere best wishes for good 2-7 fortune and happiness in the future; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for Mr. Stewart as an expression of high regard by the 2-10 Texas House of Representatives.
