                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The year 2000 marked an eventful time in the life of
 1-2     Jana Miller of Bellmead, for not only did the Bellmead Junior City
 1-3     Council program she sponsors win the 2000 Excellence Award from the
 1-4     Texas Municipal League, but she was also named teacher of the year
 1-5     of the East LaVega Intermediate School; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Bellmead Junior City Council is a program that
 1-7     nurtures and encourages civic involvement by the youth of the
 1-8     Bellmead community, and Mrs. Miller has served as its sponsor for
 1-9     the last 10 years; and
1-10           WHEREAS, This outstanding educator earned an education degree
1-11     from Texas Christian University and has set a fine example for her
1-12     students during 22 years as a teacher, the past nine years on the
1-13     staff of East LaVega Intermediate School; and
1-14           WHEREAS, In addition to her classroom and extra-curricular
1-15     activities, Mrs. Miller is active on a number of committees and
1-16     boards and represents East LaVega Intermediate School as a member
1-17     of the District Superintendent's Council; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Jana Miller has aspired to
1-19     the highest standards of professionalism and achievement, and it is
1-20     indeed appropriate that she be honored at this time; now,
1-21     therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-23     Legislature hereby congratulate Jana Miller on being named the East
1-24     LaVega Intermediate School Teacher of the Year 2000 and extend to
 2-1     her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and,
 2-2     be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-4     prepared for Mrs. Miller as an expression of high regard by the
 2-5     Texas House of Representatives.
