                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, In 1997, the Confederate Air Force established the
 1-2     American Combat Airman Hall of Fame to honor American fliers who
 1-3     served valiantly during any war or conflict; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, This prestigious hall of fame recognizes only combat
 1-5     air personnel who have placed their lives in peril defending the
 1-6     United States; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Since its inception, 30 distinguished Americans and
 1-8     four units have been chosen for induction into the hall of fame and
 1-9     more deserving candidates are being inducted on October 5, 2001;
1-10     and
1-11           WHEREAS, The induction ceremony will coincide with the grand
1-12     opening of a Confederate Air Force Museum facility dedicated to
1-13     preserving the greatest collection of aviation nose art in the
1-14     world; and
1-15           WHEREAS, In honoring admirable American air combat troops who
1-16     have gone beyond the call of duty for their country, the hall of
1-17     fame pays tribute to the courage and sacrifice that have secured
1-18     the freedoms and liberties we hold so dear; now, therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-20     Legislature hereby recognize the American Combat Airman Hall of
1-21     Fame as the Official Combat Hall of Fame of the State of Texas and
1-22     extend to its 2001 induction class sincere congratulations on this
1-23     notable distinction.
