R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Thousands of motorcycles and motorcycle enthusiasts
 1-2     flock to El Paso each year to participate in the annual Border Run,
 1-3     a three-day event that includes parades, drag races, concerts,
 1-4     trading, and a chance to eat great food and meet old and new
 1-5     friends; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, This year's event, sponsored by Barnett
 1-7     Harley-Davidson and Rods & Wheels Bar & Grill, will begin May 4 and
 1-8     continue through May 6, 2001, with the noble goals of raising money
 1-9     for the Katja Epilepsy Foundation and the Abused and Abandoned
1-10     Animal Society and to increase motorcycle awareness and provide
1-11     entertainment for El Pasoans; and
1-12           WHEREAS, The adventurous spirit and freedom-seeking heart
1-13     found in all Texans is especially exemplified in our motorcycle
1-14     enthusiasts, and it gives the members of this chamber great
1-15     pleasure to salute them and the city of El Paso for keeping this
1-16     spirit alive; now, therefore, be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-18     Legislature commend Barnett Harley-Davidson, Rods & Wheels Bar &
1-19     Grill, and motorcycle enthusiasts for their dedication to the El
1-20     Paso community and for ensuring that the spirit of Texas lives on.
