                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Barbara Henderson was recently honored as the
 1-2     recipient of this year's Lifetime Achievement Award presented by
 1-3     the Junior League of Odessa; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A resident of Odessa for more than four decades,
 1-5     Ms. Henderson has long been an active contributor to her community,
 1-6     giving generously of her time and talents to benefit her neighbors
 1-7     and fellow Texans; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, She has worked with the Junior League for the last
 1-9     25 years and during that time, has demonstrated a commitment to the
1-10     organization and its ideals that is truly commendable; this
1-11     outstanding citizen has earned the respect and admiration of her
1-12     family, friends, and colleagues, and serves as a role model for
1-13     those who choose to embark on a life of civic involvement; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Among the many organizations that have benefited
1-15     from Ms. Henderson's dedicated service are the city's Presidential
1-16     Museum, the Ector Theater, Mainstreet Odessa, and the Phyllis
1-17     Wheatley Day Nursery; she also worked for the designation of the
1-18     First United Methodist Church as a historical building and aided in
1-19     raising funds for its restoration; and
1-20           WHEREAS, A woman of integrity and vision, Ms. Henderson is
1-21     only the second recipient of this prestigious award, and it is a
1-22     privilege to honor her for her impressive accomplishments; now,
1-23     therefore, be it
1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-1     Legislature hereby congratulate Barbara Henderson on receiving the
 2-2     Lifetime Achievement Award from the Junior League of Odessa and
 2-3     extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and
 2-4     happiness in the years to come; and, be it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-6     prepared for Ms. Henderson as an expression of high regard by the
 2-7     Texas House of Representatives.
