R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
 1-2     Dallas Arthur Lee of Austin in recognition of his achieving the
 1-3     highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America, that of Eagle Scout; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Mr. Lee was born on August 8, 1985, in Austin, to
 1-5     Randy M. and Sherry Lee and attended Eanes Elementary and Hill
 1-6     Country Middle School, where he was elected a member of the
 1-7     National Junior Honor Society; Mr. Lee is now a sophomore at St.
 1-8     Michael's Academy and is a member of the varsity football team and
 1-9     the Guitar Club; and
1-10           WHEREAS, This fine young man first joined scouting as a Cub
1-11     Scout at the young age of seven with Pack 66, Eanes Elementary, and
1-12     crossed over to Boy Scouts on March 1, 1996, to Troop 70, Capital
1-13     Area Council, at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Mr. Lee has served Troop 70 with distinction over
1-15     the last five years in various leadership positions, currently as
1-16     senior patrol leader, and formerly as patrol leader, assistant
1-17     patrol leader, troop guide, quartermaster, and scribe; he is a
1-18     member of the Order of the Arrow and Tonkawa Lodge, and he holds
1-19     the Arrow of Light and the God and Country Award; and
1-20           WHEREAS, Mr. Lee has twice served the Texas House of
1-21     Representatives with distinction as an honorary page and the Texas
1-22     Senate as an honorary messenger and serves his community in many
1-23     ways, including as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, the
1-24     Capital Area Food Bank, and Marbridge Farms; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, Mr. Lee's Eagle Scout service project, in which he
 2-2     planned, implemented, and executed a new hike and bike access trail
 2-3     for City Park of the City of Lakeway, was duly appreciated and
 2-4     greeted with enthusiasm by the residents of Lakeway; and
 2-5           WHEREAS, It is not only a special honor but also a unique
 2-6     achievement for a young man to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, since
 2-7     only 2 boys out of 100 who join scouting ever complete and reach
 2-8     this highest rank; and
 2-9           WHEREAS, Dallas Arthur Lee, at the age of 15, will receive
2-10     his Eagle Scout Rank at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on May 19,
2-11     2001; now, therefore, be it
2-12           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
2-13     Legislature hereby congratulate Dallas Arthur Lee and his family
2-14     for his dedication to scouting and his achieving the rank of Eagle
2-15     Scout and extend sincere best wishes for his continued success and
2-16     happiness; and, be it further
2-17           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-18     prepared for Mr. Lee as a tangible expression of high regard by the
2-19     Texas House of Representatives.
