R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, For more than five decades, Martha Allison has
1-2 worked at the Borger Bus Station, and the enjoyment she derives
1-3 from the people she serves is a source of inspiration to all who
1-4 know her; and
1-5 WHEREAS, This dedicated "people person" moved to Borger from
1-6 Heartshorn, Oklahoma, and began her career at the bus station as a
1-7 commission agent when she was just 17 years old working for her
1-8 uncle, who started the business, which originally ran from Amarillo
1-9 to Borger and Pampa, in 1934; and
1-10 WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Mrs. Allison's various duties
1-11 at the station have included selling tickets, chartering buses and
1-12 tours for groups, and shipping packages through Bus Express; and
1-13 WHEREAS, A loving mother of a daughter, Julie, and a son,
1-14 Richard, who is also employed at the Borger Bus Station,
1-15 Mrs. Allison has successfully combined the joys of parenthood with
1-16 the role of a working woman and takes great pride in her family as
1-17 well as her 55-year tenure with the company; with her positive
1-18 attitude, ready smile, and bright disposition, she has made
1-19 countless friends, interacted with people from across the country,
1-20 and earned a special place in the hearts of many people; now,
1-21 therefore, be it
1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-23 Legislature hereby honor Martha Allison for her outstanding record
1-24 of service at the Borger Bus Station and extend to her sincere best
2-1 wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-3 prepared for Mrs. Allison as an expression of high regard by the
2-4 Texas House of Representatives.
