                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, May 1, 2001, marked the celebration of Law Day in
 1-2     the United States, and this significant occasion provides a fitting
 1-3     opportunity to pay tribute to the Honorable Don Jarvis, judge of
 1-4     County Court at Law No. 1 of Grayson County; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A graduate of Austin College and Southern Methodist
 1-6     University School of Law, Judge Jarvis is currently working on his
 1-7     master's in business administration at Texas A&M
 1-8     University-Commerce; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, This respected jurist began his career as a county
1-10     court at law judge on September 16, 1994, and has served admirably
1-11     in this capacity for more than six years; he is also a former
1-12     president of the Grayson County Bar Association; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Involved in a number of community organizations, he
1-14     is a popular speaker at Veterans of Foreign Wars and other service
1-15     organization events and is a valued member of the Masons and the
1-16     Elks Club; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Judge Jarvis is the proud father of three children,
1-18     Chip, Holly, and Don Jarvis, Jr., all of whom have followed in
1-19     their father's footsteps to pursue careers in the legal profession;
1-20     and
1-21           WHEREAS, With his exemplary record of service, Judge Jarvis
1-22     has proven himself to be a leader who has strived to make a lasting
1-23     difference in his community; now, therefore, be it
1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-1     Legislature hereby recognize the Honorable Don Jarvis on his
 2-2     outstanding service to his community and extend to him sincere best
 2-3     wishes for the future; and, be it further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-5     prepared for Judge Jarvis as an expression of high regard by the
 2-6     Texas House of Representatives.
