                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
 1-2     Harvey P. Schneider, retiring superintendent of the Yoakum
 1-3     Independent School District (ISD), as he concludes an outstanding
 1-4     41-year career dedicated to educational excellence within his
 1-5     hometown district; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, A graduate of Yoakum High School, Mr. Schneider
 1-7     holds both bachelor's and master's degrees from Southwest Texas
 1-8     State University; he later earned mid-management and superintendent
 1-9     certification from the University of Houston-Victoria; and
1-10           WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan embarked on his teaching career
1-11     at Yoakum High School in 1960, added baseball coaching
1-12     responsibilities in 1967, and  accepted the position of principal
1-13     of Yoakum Junior High School the following year; and
1-14           WHEREAS, In 1981, Mr. Schneider became assistant
1-15     superintendent of schools for Yoakum ISD, and since 1985 he has
1-16     offered his support and guidance in the role of superintendent; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Throughout his truly noteworthy career with Yoakum
1-18     ISD, Mr. Schneider has set high standards to which all educators
1-19     and administrators may aspire and has made a lasting contribution
1-20     to Yoakum students, and he is indeed worthy of special recognition
1-21     at this time; now, therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-23     Legislature hereby commend Harvey P. Schneider for his dedication
1-24     to the students of Yoakum and extend to him sincere best wishes for
 2-1     a happy and fulfilling retirement; and, be it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-3     prepared for Mr. Schneider as an expression of high regard by the
 2-4     Texas House of Representatives.
