                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On May 15, 2001, the Parent Teacher Association
 1-2     (PTA) at Houston Gardens Elementary School in Houston is hosting a
 1-3     silent auction and awards dinner in an end-of-the-year celebration;
 1-4     and
 1-5           WHEREAS, At the event, entitled "Together We Make A
 1-6     Difference," the PTA is recognizing the efforts of school faculty,
 1-7     staff, parents, caregivers, and volunteers who have given of their
 1-8     time and diverse talents to benefit the children and their academic
 1-9     experience; and
1-10           WHEREAS, As a part of both the state and national PTA
1-11     organizations, the members of the Houston Gardens Elementary School
1-12     chapter have worked diligently to uphold the objectives of these
1-13     esteemed programs, and they promote the welfare of children and
1-14     youth in the home, at school, in the community, and in places of
1-15     worship; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Working to encourage and empower our next generation
1-17     of leaders is a tremendous undertaking, and one that is worthy of
1-18     praise; this community of dedicated parents and faculty members has
1-19     come together and made a significant impact in the lives of this
1-20     next generation of Texans, and it is a privilege to honor them at
1-21     this time; now, therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-23     Legislature hereby commend the members of the Houston Gardens
1-24     Elementary School PTA on the occasion of their silent auction and
 2-1     awards dinner honoring the faculty, staff, parents, caregivers, and
 2-2     volunteers of the school; and, be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-4     prepared for the school's PTA as an expression of high regard by
 2-5     the Texas House of Representatives.
