                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Samuel Henry Livingston of Austin has attained the
 1-2     prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, and this notable accomplishment is
 1-3     indeed worthy of special praise; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, The son of Kirk S. and Janis L. Livingston, this
 1-5     fine young Texan was born in Austin on February 10, 1985; he
 1-6     attended Cedar Creek Elementary and Hill Country Middle School and
 1-7     is now a freshman at Westlake High School, where he is a member of
 1-8     the Chaparrals' varsity wrestling team; he is also a black belt in
 1-9     tae kwon do and has qualified for the J24 Sailing Worlds
1-10     competition twice; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Mr. Livingston was a Cub Scout before crossing over
1-12     to the Boy Scouts on March 1, 1996; as a member of Troop 70, he has
1-13     demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities by holding the
1-14     positions of assistant senior patrol leader, patrol leader,
1-15     assistant patrol leader, and den chief; and
1-16           WHEREAS, He has followed and applied the scouting tenets
1-17     well, receiving the Arrow of Light distinction and earning
1-18     induction into the Order of the Arrow and Tonkawa Lodge; he
1-19     successfully completed his Eagle Project by planning and executing
1-20     a new walking path for the congregation of Westlake Presbyterian
1-21     Church; and
1-22           WHEREAS, Actively involved in the community, Mr. Livingston
1-23     has donated his time and energies to many worthwhile endeavors,
1-24     including the Austin Nature Center, Coats for Kids, Blue Santa, and
 2-1     various book drives; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, In completing the demanding requirements needed to
 2-3     ascend to the lofty rank of Eagle Scout, Mr. Livingston has
 2-4     displayed superb initiative and commitment, and on May 19, 2001,
 2-5     members of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 70, will convene an
 2-6     Eagle Scout Court of Honor to commemorate his sterling
 2-7     accomplishment; as he embraces a future bright with promise, it is
 2-8     most appropriate to pay tribute to him; now, therefore, be it
 2-9           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of 77th Texas
2-10     Legislature hereby congratulate Samuel Henry Livingston for
2-11     achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and commend him for his numerous
2-12     good works and deeds; and, be it further
2-13           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-14     prepared for Mr. Livingston as an expression of high regard by the
2-15     Texas House of Representatives.
