                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The American Society of Safety Engineers, the
 1-2     Canadian Society of Safety Engineers, and the Mexican Society of
 1-3     Registered Engineers are sponsoring the North American Occupational
 1-4     Safety and Health Week on May 6-12, 2001; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Celebrated across the continent, the second annual
 1-6     event serves to promote workplace safety programs developed jointly
 1-7     by employees and their companies; during this observance, numerous
 1-8     educational efforts spotlighting occupational safety and health are
 1-9     planned that will focus on preventing work-related injuries and
1-10     illnesses and help to build greater awareness of the benefits of
1-11     effective safety and health management programs; and
1-12           WHEREAS, In the Lone Star State, the Central Texas Chapter of
1-13     the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Austin Safety
1-14     Training Consortium are commemorating this significant week by
1-15     teaming up to recognize the outstanding efforts of local safety
1-16     professionals; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Occupational safety and health awareness has never
1-18     been more important than it is in today's increasingly complex
1-19     workplace, and is an issue that is most deserving of the support of
1-20     all Texans; and
1-21           WHEREAS, Prism Development, Inc., has consistently
1-22     demonstrated through innovation, collaboration, and cooperation a
1-23     healthy working environment in Austin and Texas, optimizing human
1-24     resource potential, economic vitality, and safety effectiveness;
 2-1     now, therefore, be it
 2-2           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
 2-3     Legislature hereby recognize Prism Development, Inc., as an
 2-4     outstanding safety conscious business in the State of Texas.
