No. 1078 77R15975 WMS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great 1-2 pleasure in honoring the delegation from the Eastern Cape 1-3 Provincial Legislature on the occasion of its visit to the Texas 1-4 Capitol; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Located in South Africa, the Eastern Cape Province 1-6 has a population of over six million and, like the State of Texas, 1-7 is a land rich in geographic beauty and diversity bordered by a 1-8 large coastal area; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Representing the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature 1-10 are the Honourable Mkangeli Matomela, speaker of the legislature, 1-11 the Honourable Alfred Mtsl, deputy chief whip of the African 1-12 National Congress, the Honourable Neela Hoosain, deputy chairperson 1-13 of committees, Bonga Qunte, chief financial officer, Vuyani 1-14 Mapoilsa, director of organisational efficiency and special 1-15 programmes, and Charmaine Estment, deputy director of 1-16 organisational efficiency and special programmes; and 1-17 WHEREAS, The delegation is studying the use of technology in 1-18 government and hopes to establish a mutually beneficial 1-19 relationship between its province and the State of Texas through a 1-20 variety of initiatives that include exchange programs, mentoring 1-21 and coaching programs, and capacity-building programs; and 1-22 WHEREAS, Dedicated to creating a brighter future for the 1-23 people they represent, the membership of the Eastern Cape 1-24 Provincial Legislature is working to fulfill the highest 2-1 aspirations of all those who undertake public service, and it is 2-2 indeed appropriate that they be recognized for their work; now, 2-3 therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby commend the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature 2-6 for its significant achievements and welcome the members of its 2-7 visiting delegation to the Texas Capitol; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for the delegation as an expression of high regard by the 2-10 Texas House of Representatives.
