R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Destination ImagiNation team at Cedar Park High 1-2 School recently impressed judges and peers alike with their 1-3 exceptional performance at this year's regional competition, where 1-4 they placed first and advanced to the state contest; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Destination ImagiNation is a problem-solving 1-6 competition that encourages "out of the box" thinking while 1-7 emphasizing the importance of teamwork; participants in the 1-8 challenge are presented with a problem and are expected to find and 1-9 explain a unique solution within a limited amount of time, earning 1-10 points for creativity and originality; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Under the dedicated guidance of coaches Donna 1-12 Chatham and Cush Chatham, the Cedar Park High School team was able 1-13 to continue a three-year tradition of taking the top spot at the 1-14 competition, and this year they won two additional honors, the 1-15 "outstanding award" and the "exceptional award"; the school's team 1-16 has been together for four years and is composed of Clark Smithson, 1-17 Jonathan Chatham, Jennifer Flemming, and Stephen Lazano; and 1-18 WHEREAS, By virtue of their continued success, the members of 1-19 the Destination ImagiNation team have proven they have the 1-20 dedication and ingenuity to triumph when faced with a difficult 1-21 situation, and they are truly worthy of acknowledgment and praise 1-22 for their latest accomplishment; now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-24 Legislature hereby congratulate the Destination ImagiNation team 2-1 from Cedar Park High School on their noteworthy efforts at the 2-2 regional competition and extend to them sincere best wishes for 2-3 success at the state level; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-5 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-6 House of Representatives.
