R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Residents of Ennis recently lost an exceptional 1-2 community leader and beloved neighbor with the passing of David Low 1-3 on April 26, 2001, at the age of 48; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Low was born in Victoria on 1-5 April 10, 1953, and spent many of his early years in Uvalde; he 1-6 graduated from Uvalde High School before attending Southwest Texas 1-7 Uvalde Junior College and embarking on a career as the owner and 1-8 operator of the Ellis County Equipment Company; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Dedicated to the youth of the Lone Star State, this 1-10 esteemed gentleman gave generously of his time and many talents to 1-11 a host of worthwhile programs, including the Ellis County 4-H and 1-12 FFA; in addition, he was a member of the Ellis County Ag Extension 1-13 and Development Committee, the Southwest Implement Dealers 1-14 Association, the Navarro College Foundation, the chamber of 1-15 commerce, and the Ellis County Youth Expo, which was named in his 1-16 honor; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Mr. Low was also a member of the Tabernacle Baptist 1-18 Church, and while he will be greatly missed, his legacy of 1-19 selflessness and community service will live on in the hearts and 1-20 minds of the many people with whom he shared his life; now, 1-21 therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of David Low and extend 1-24 sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Rachel 2-1 Low; to his mother, Joy Low; to his grandmother, Veda Spahn; to his 2-2 mother- and father-in-law, Al and Dorothy Bishop; to his uncles, 2-3 Winston Low and Wayne Spahn; to his aunts, Katherine Kelley, 2-4 Frances Parr, Odessa Harborth, and Margie Evans; to his 2-5 brothers-in-law and their families, Al and Shirlene Bishop, and 2-6 their children, Allyson and Ryan, and Mark and LaDonna Bishop, and 2-7 their children, Sarah and Nolanne; to his sisters-in-law and their 2-8 families, Tim and Mary Anne Collins, and their children, Jesse and 2-9 Rachel, and Luis and Carmen Colon, and their daughter, Becky; to 2-10 his goddaughter, Rebecca Thomas; and to his other relatives and 2-11 many friends; and, be it further 2-12 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-13 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of 2-14 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of David Low.
