R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to
1-2 congratulate Madeline Boadle of Big Spring on her selection as
1-3 Texas Mother of the Year 2001; and
1-4 WHEREAS, Mrs. Boadle was honored at an April awards luncheon
1-5 sponsored by the Texas Mothers Association, an affiliate of the
1-6 American Mothers Association, Inc., which promotes and honors
1-7 motherhood; nominated for her work in the community and in behalf
1-8 of her family, she spoke on the topic, "Nurturing With Love: Both
1-9 Roots and Branches in the New Millennium" at the event; and
1-10 WHEREAS, The mother of 6 children and grandmother of 10,
1-11 Mrs. Boadle encourages parents to participate in their children's
1-12 lives and to celebrate each child as an individual; she would like
1-13 to start a local chapter of the American Mothers Association, Inc.,
1-14 particularly so that young mothers could benefit from mentors and
1-15 receive assistance with parenting skills; and
1-16 WHEREAS, Through her many good works, this lovely lady has
1-17 set an inspiring example of civic leadership; president-elect of
1-18 Big Spring's Church Women United chapter, she is an active member
1-19 of the Sand Springs Lions Club and North Birdwell Lane United
1-20 Methodist Church, serves the Howard County Historical Commission as
1-21 secretary, and shares her time as an ombudsman with the Agency on
1-22 Aging, in which capacity she advocates for Mountain View Lodge
1-23 nursing center residents and their families; further, Mrs. Boadle
1-24 and her devoted husband, Ben, assist the Redbird Missionary
2-1 Conference in southeastern Kentucky; and
2-2 WHEREAS, Madeline Boadle truly exemplifies the myriad virtues
2-3 of motherhood, and it is indeed appropriate that she be honored at
2-4 this time; now, therefore, be it
2-5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
2-6 Legislature hereby congratulate Madeline Boadle on being named
2-7 Texas Mother of the Year 2001 and extend to her sincere best wishes
2-8 for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-10 prepared for Mrs. Boadle as an expression of high regard by the
2-11 Texas House of Representatives.
