                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to
 1-2     congratulate Melissa Marino of Houston on her graduation from Texas
 1-3     School for the Deaf (TSD) on May 24, 2001; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Born on February 27, 1983, Ms. Marino has enjoyed a
 1-5     well-rounded student career through her involvement in myriad
 1-6     activities at TSD; a standout in sports, she was named Most
 1-7     Valuable Player in basketball and softball and received the Female
 1-8     Scholar Athlete of the Year Award; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Her notable scholastic achievements include
1-10     attaining the Silver and Gold Honor Roll, which denotes earning all
1-11     As and Bs; this impressive young Texan was elected Student Body
1-12     Government Co-Director of Social Events, was active in cheerleading
1-13     and drama endeavors, and is a member of the Junior National
1-14     Association of the Deaf; and
1-15           WHEREAS, She is planning to continue her education at the
1-16     National Technical Institute for the Deaf, and her travel agenda
1-17     includes flying around the world; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Ms. Marino has achieved her graduation through
1-19     dedication to her goals and discipline in her schoolwork, and it is
1-20     truly a pleasure to join her family and friends in honoring her at
1-21     this time; now, therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-23     Legislature hereby congratulate Melissa Marino on her graduation
1-24     from Texas School for the Deaf and extend to her sincere best
 2-1     wishes for future success and happiness; and, be it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-3     prepared for Ms. Marino as an expression of high regard by the
 2-4     Texas House of Representatives.
