No. 1169 77R17202 MDM-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Estela Hernandez Palomares of San 1-2 Antonio, on April 24, 2001, at the age of 79, has deeply saddened 1-3 the family and many friends of this beloved woman; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native Texan, she was born on March 15, 1922, in 1-5 Devine in Medina County, grew up in the area of Moore, Bigfoot, and 1-6 Devine, and attended Bigfoot schools; and 1-7 WHEREAS, This lovely lady married Alfredo Palomares from 1-8 Lacoste on September 29, 1940; with her husband, Mrs. Palomares 1-9 enjoyed a warm and fulfilling relationship and took great pride in 1-10 her six daughters and three sons; as her family grew through the 1-11 years, she embraced the joys of grandparenting, and her 15 1-12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren will always cherish their 1-13 memories of her; and 1-14 WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Palomares created a 1-15 nurturing, peaceful home environment for her loved ones; she also 1-16 shared her time and energy with her church and community, and her 1-17 enthusiasm and hearty laugh delighted those with whom she 1-18 volunteered at St. Joseph Catholic School and as a member of the 1-19 altar society and the Guadalupanas; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Estela Palomares demonstrated deep commitment to her 1-21 family, her church, and her community, and the loving influence she 1-22 had on the lives of so many will continue for years to come; now, 1-23 therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-1 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Estela Hernandez 2-2 Palomares and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: 2-3 to her husband, Alfredo Palomares; to her sons, Alfredo Palomares, 2-4 Jr., Roman Palomares, and Michael Palomares; to her daughters, Olga 2-5 Ortega, Gloria Eyler, Sabina Gutierrez, and Bernadette Cardenas; to 2-6 her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to the other 2-7 relatives and many friends of this esteemed woman; and, be it 2-8 further 2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-10 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of 2-11 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Estela 2-12 Hernandez Palomares.
