                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The 2000 Jarrell High School girls volleyball team
 1-2     completed a stellar season, and its numerous accomplishments are
 1-3     indeed worthy of special legislative recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Jarrell was reclassified by the University
 1-5     Interscholastic League (UIL) from a Class 1A school to a Class 2A
 1-6     school in 2000, and its players proved they were ready for the
 1-7     challenge and prepared for the step up in competition; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, In the UIL state volleyball playoffs, Jarrell won
 1-9     its bi-district match by capturing a convincing victory against
1-10     Salado High School to become the District 25-2A bi-district
1-11     champions; and
1-12           WHEREAS, The superb season would not have been possible
1-13     without the important contributions of all of the talented team
1-14     members; in order to qualify for the volleyball postseason, these
1-15     exemplary young women demonstrated not only their enormous athletic
1-16     skills and abilities, but also the discipline, training, and
1-17     persistence required to be successful; and
1-18           WHEREAS, With their hard work and dedication, the players and
1-19     coaches came together to meet a collective goal; as the Cougars
1-20     take great pride and satisfaction in their many achievements, it is
1-21     most appropriate to pay tribute to them; now, therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-23     Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the 2000 Jarrell
1-24     High School girls volleyball team on their tremendous season and
 2-1     extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success and good
 2-2     fortune; and, be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-4     prepared for the Jarrell High School girls volleyball team as an
 2-5     expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
