R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, A strong advocate for families and especially the
 1-2     children of Texas, the Honorable Fred Brown has given tirelessly to
 1-3     the Brazos Valley United Way; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, In an ongoing effort to ensure the highest quality
 1-5     of life for all Texans, Representative Brown has served as honorary
 1-6     chairman for the United Way of the Brazos Valley's outreach program
 1-7     for the  Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and his
 1-8     support of the program has included hiring staff to conduct CHIP
 1-9     outreach in the business community; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Representative Brown has promoted CHIP through the
1-11     TexCare Partnership since its inception, holding town meetings with
1-12     church representatives and collaborating with the Texas A&M
1-13     University College of Medicine to enlist their assistance in
1-14     conducting CHIP outreach programs; and
1-15           WHEREAS, The significant contributions and unwavering
1-16     commitment that Representative Brown has given to the cause of
1-17     children's health care in Texas through his deep involvement in the
1-18     Brazos Valley United Way is truly commendable, and he is most
1-19     deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-21     Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Fred Brown for his work
1-22     with the Brazos Valley United Way; and, be it further
1-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24     prepared for Representative Brown as an expression of high regard
 2-1     by the Texas House of Representatives.
