No. 1189 77R17210 MW-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, On March 30, 2001, the Llano High School Concert 1-2 Ensemble and Marching Ensemble gave stellar performances at the 1-3 Texas Color Guard Circuit Percussion State Championships held in 1-4 Houston; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Led by the expertise, hard work, and selfless 1-6 dedication of Llano High School percussion director Larry 1-7 Leifeste, the concert ensemble and marching ensemble reached the 1-8 state contest by first competing in a qualifying meet at Southwest 1-9 Texas State University; and 1-10 WHEREAS, At the Houston championships, the Llano High School 1-11 Concert Ensemble, which was the only 3A school group at the 1-12 competition, performed its "Shades of the Orient" program to rave 1-13 reviews and emerged victorious; the marching ensemble finished as 1-14 runner-up in the Scholastic AA Marching category with its program 1-15 titled "2001: A Tactical Odyssey"; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The talented concert ensemble of Llano students 1-17 includes Chris Bates, Charlie Doescher, Ashlee Franz, Allen Hopson, 1-18 Amy Wooten, Ross Freeman, Leila Green, Michael Pospisil, Sarah 1-19 Busby, Bridget Downey, Regina Forehand, Grant Harden, Megan Rode, 1-20 Jacob Butler, Karalise Leifeste, and Neil Richardson; providing 1-21 invaluable support and technical assistance were crew members James 1-22 Allen, Marcus Cooper, Matt Denham, Sarah Dudley, Niki Grantham, 1-23 Adam Gunter, Kathren Noel, Dawnielle Pool, Ashley Pool, and Ivan 1-24 Woolverton; and 2-1 WHEREAS, Comprising the fine Llano High School Marching 2-2 Ensemble are Charlie Doescher, Ashlee Franz, Allen Hopson, Amy 2-3 Wooten, James Allen, Marcus Cooper, Matt Denham, Sarah Dudley, Ross 2-4 Freeman, Niki Grantham, Leila Green, Adam Gunter, Dawnielle Pool, 2-5 Michael Pospisil, Sarah Busby, Bridget Downey, Regina Forehand, 2-6 Grant Harden, Megan Rode, Jacob Butler, Karalise Leifeste, and Neil 2-7 Richardson; the irreplaceable crew members were Chris Bates, 2-8 Kathren Noel, Ashley Pool, and Ivan Woolverton; and 2-9 WHEREAS, These exceptional young people have exhibited the 2-10 commitment and excellence worthy of state champions, and they are a 2-11 great source of pride for Llano and the Lone Star State; now, 2-12 therefore, be it 2-13 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas 2-14 Legislature hereby commend director Larry Leifeste, the musicians, 2-15 and the crew members of the Llano High School Concert Ensemble and 2-16 Marching Ensemble for their noteworthy achievements and extend to 2-17 each of them sincere best wishes for success in all their future 2-18 endeavors.
