R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, Rachel Traxler of Round Rock received the Great
1-2 American award from Caldwell Heights Elementary School in February
1-3 2001; and
1-4 WHEREAS, The accolade was established by the school to
1-5 promote patriotism, civic awareness, and participation; Ms. Traxler
1-6 is the first student at Caldwell Heights to be accorded the award;
1-7 and
1-8 WHEREAS, She impressed her fellow students and teachers by
1-9 naming each of the United States presidents in the order they
1-10 served, identifying all 50 states and their capitals in order of
1-11 statehood, and reciting the Preamble to the Constitution, the
1-12 Pledge of Allegiance, the Gettysburg Address, and the Star-Spangled
1-13 Banner; and
1-14 WHEREAS, A straight "A" student, this talented 9-year-old has
1-15 been recognized by the city of Round Rock, as well as at a special
1-16 awards ceremony held at her school; and
1-17 WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Ms. Traxler has enjoyed the
1-18 love and support of her family, which includes her parents, Tracy
1-19 and Janet Traxler, brother, Jeremy Traxler, and grandparents, Ellen
1-20 Wallace and Karen and Bruce Aumack; and
1-21 WHEREAS, With her sterling scholastic record and
1-22 achievements, Ms. Traxler has proven herself to be a shining
1-23 example for her fellow classmates, and it is indeed most
1-24 appropriate to pay tribute to her at this time; now, therefore, be
2-1 it
2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
2-3 Legislature hereby congratulate Rachel Traxler for earning the
2-4 Great American award and commend her on her outstanding
2-5 accomplishments at Caldwell Heights; and, be it further
2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-7 prepared for Ms. Traxler as an expression of high regard by the
2-8 Texas House of Representatives.
