                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The untimely death of Reginald Jack Jones of Dallas
 1-2     on May 20, 2001, at the age of 45, has deeply saddened the family
 1-3     and many friends of this esteemed man; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Born on February 21, 1956, he was baptized at the
 1-5     age of five at New Jerusalem Institutional Baptist Church and was
 1-6     educated in the Dallas Independent School District; outgoing from
 1-7     an early age, he was a drum major at Boude Story Junior High School
 1-8     and participated in Southern Methodist University's Drum Major
 1-9     School the summer before graduating from Skyline High School in
1-10     1975; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Mr. Jones attended Oral Roberts University and Wiley
1-12     College, where he earned his bachelor's degree in education; and
1-13           WHEREAS, He established a well-deserved reputation for
1-14     excellence as a classroom teacher with the Wilmer-Hutchins School
1-15     District, and his commitment to helping every child achieve the
1-16     best education possible earned him a special place in the hearts of
1-17     the school's students, parents, and staff; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Although his life was far too brief, Reginald Jones
1-19     will surely be remembered with great affection and admiration for
1-20     many years to come; now, therefore, be it
1-21           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
1-22     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Reginald Jack Jones
1-23     and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
1-24     mother, Bernice G. Conley; to his brothers, Virgil E. Sneed, Jenard
 2-1     W. Jenkins, Ronald J. Sneed, Donald G. Sneed, and John B. Jones; to
 2-2     his sister, Janice M. Williams; to his great-uncle, James Williams;
 2-3     and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-5     prepared for  the members of his family and that when the Texas
 2-6     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
 2-7     Reginald Jack Jones.
