R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, On April 7, 2001, Randall Alan Cooley and the former
1-2 Megan Moser Drum were united in matrimony at the Austin Avenue
1-3 United Methodist Church in Waco; and
1-4 WHEREAS, The daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Richard A. Drum,
1-5 Mrs. Cooley graduated from Midway High School in Hewitt in 1994,
1-6 The University of Texas at Austin in 1997, and Baylor Law School,
1-7 where she served on Law Review before graduating in 2000; and
1-8 WHEREAS, Mr. Cooley is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Gary F.
1-9 Geldmeier and Mr. and Mrs. Craig Cooley, and he is also an alumni
1-10 of Midway High School and The University of Texas at Austin; and
1-11 WHEREAS, In the years while they were pursuing their higher
1-12 education in Austin, the couple were well known to many people in
1-13 the Capitol Complex, as the bride-to-be was a valued employee in
1-14 the office of State Representative Tony Goolsby and her future
1-15 groom served the house of representatives with distinction as an
1-16 assistant sergeant-at-arms; and
1-17 WHEREAS, Today, Mr. and Mrs. Cooley make their home in
1-18 Grapevine, where they take pleasure in spending time with their
1-19 pets, Emma, Lilly, and Bailey, as well as reading, playing golf,
1-20 and enjoying UT football in their leisure time; both are employed
1-21 in the Metroplex area, with Mrs. Cooley working for Kelly, Hart &
1-22 Hallman in Fort Worth and Mr. Cooley employed by W. W. Cannon,
1-23 Inc., in Dallas; and
1-24 WHEREAS, The couple's marriage has not only brought joy to
2-1 their parents, but also to the other members of their close-knit
2-2 family, which includes Betty C. Close, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Cooley,
2-3 Katy Cooley, Sally and Jim Reynolds, W. E. Close III, Mr. and
2-4 Mrs. Chris Cooley, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Drum, Doris Woodley Moser,
2-5 Allison, Jay, and Caroline Angell, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rogers, and
2-6 Mr. and Mrs. Gary Drum; and
2-7 WHEREAS, The marriage of two young people is a joyous event
2-8 that marks the beginning of a union filled with limitless
2-9 possibilities, and it is a privilege to honor the Cooleys as they
2-10 begin their new life together; now, therefore, be it
2-11 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 77th Texas
2-12 Legislature hereby congratulate Randy and Megan Cooley on their
2-13 recent marriage and extend to them sincere best wishes for much
2-14 happiness in the years to come; and, be it further
2-15 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-16 prepared for the Cooleys as an expression of high regard by the
2-17 Texas House of Representatives.
